Legionary Courage

Nearly all Legionary work consists of approaching people to bring them closer to God. There is a natural timidity called 'human respect' that has to be overcome. We worry about what people will think. Will we be rejected? Will they understand? These fears prevent many from engaging in the Church's evangelizing work.

It takes courage to do Legionary work.

In Mathew's gospel Jesus tells us to let our light shine before men, so they will see our good works and give glory to God.

There is a need for evangelization, but people are afraid. The Holy Spirit has prepared a great harvest, but souls are not approached.

The prayer to Saint Francis applies,

Grant that I may not so much seek to be understood, but to understand.
Don't worry so much about whether you will be accepted and understood, rather try to understand and accept the people you are approaching.

Faith is a great gift that will improve their lives.
