Go into the World

Yesterday was the feast of the Ascention. Just before His ascension, Jesus' last words were, "Go into the world and proclaim the Good News to the whole creation" MK 16:15 By doing Legion works we obey this final commandment of Jesus. When we take the Pilgrim Virgin Statue to peoples homes, work at the literature stand, go door to door welcoming new residents, teach religious ed., or when we contact people, we are going out to the world to proclaime the good news. Our purpose is to bring people closer to Jesus, to strengthen their faith. Faith is a gift from God. The Holy Spirit does the heavy lifting. He is constantly working on people, giving them the graces they need. We have success with people who are ready. All we have to do is provide them with the information and friendship they need. Jesus says, "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him." John 6:44 We meet non-Catholics and fallen-aways who are drawn to Ave Maria by the Holy Spirit. We can be the instruments the Holy Spirit uses to help the people He is working on come to Jesus, but success depends on God.
