The handbook readings have been about the meeting. Jesus says that
wherever two or three are gathered in His name He is with them.
Jesus is with us at our meeting. Mary and Joseph are also present.
We should think of the meeting as the mystical home of Nazareth with Jesus, Mary, and Joseph present. Mary kept the home neat. Our meeting room should also be neat, with flowers and a clean cloth. Joseph being a carpenter no doubt provided a sturdy table and chairs. The home of Nazareth was harmonious. Jesus, Mary and Joseph loved and respected each other. Not that they didn't express differences of opinion. Recall Jesus saying to His mother at Cana, "Woman how does this concern of yours effect me?" John 2:4Or when Mary and Joseph found Jesus in the temple, Mary said, "Son, why have you done this to us? Your father and I have been looking for you with great anxiety." Luke 2:48The Legion meeting has a family atmosphere where we to can express ourselves and work out differences. The meeting is our primary obligation. The first standing instruction says, Legionary duty requires from each legionary the punctual and regular attendance at the weekly meetings. At our weekly meeting we meet in a family atmosphere with our fellow Legionaries and with Jesus, Mary and Joseph. We receive the grace necessary to do our work.
